As more drivers decide to fit their cars with dash cams, the number of videos capturing shocking driving, such as this instance, are on the rise.

Filmed from a Mercedes’ dash cam, new footage reveals the moment an Audi driver’s apparent impatient driving caused a crash.

The clip shows an Audi A7 pulling up to a roundabout heading towards the A457 to Oldbury in the West Midlands.

Upon reaching the roundabout, the Audi is in the right-hand lane.

A red Ford Focus can be seen using the left-hand lane to pass over the roundabout.

As the Audi starts to pull out, it transpires it is in the wrong lane, although it is not clear if this was intentional.

The Audi looks to be driving faster than the rest of the traffic and even though it’s driving in the right-hand lane, starts to indicate left at the last minute.

As the Ford and Audi pull up alongside each other, the Audi looks to speed up.

Almost looking as if to get in front of the Ford, the Audi starts peels off attempting to make the left turn.

However, the Audi is not able to get far enough ahead of the Ford.

The Ford, surprised by the suddenly turning Audi, is unable to avoid the collision and smashes into the side of the Audi.

The Audi then bounces off the Ford, spinning into the left-hand turn.

Although it is not certain that the Audi was attempting to queue jump, the Mercedes driver with the dash cam reported that they spotted the Audi speeding up to the roundabout before the accident.

According to Birmingham Live, the Mercedes driver said: “People are always trying to queue jump on the approach to this particular roundabout, and it is dangerous.

“Virtually every morning, on my way into work, I see at least one car attempting this manoeuvre, even though the lanes are clearly marked otherwise – for this very reason.

“I don’t think anyone was seriously harmed, but needless to say this could have been easily avoided.”

Richard Browning, Director at Nextbase Dashcams, added: “Incidents which involve multiple vehicles can make it harder for insurers, or even police, to determine blame and it is often the case that liability is split between parties, unnecessarily affecting both premiums.

“In this instance, however, the footage proves without doubt that the Audi was to blame, simply through thoughtless driving and thinking that they can save mere seconds on their morning commute, but actually end up costing themselves much more time.”

This is not the first time an Audi has been caught driving dangerously on camera.

Previous footage showed an Audi dangerously undertake a tipper truck that was driving in the right-hand land.

The dangerous move was caught on camera and the Audi driver was later prosecuted.
