The State Department nailed my girlfriend’s passport
It’s a rare occasion a traveller will receive their new passport back in the post and like the photo staring back at them.
But a woman in the US had a more amusing photo fail than most.
Chelsey Ramos from Austin, Texas, took a side-by-side comparison of the photo she sent off to the passport office and the one that came back on her passport.
The 27-year-old’s boyfriend Reece Lagunas shared the image to Reddit, captioned: “The State Department nailed my girlfriend’s passport”.
Passport photo fail: A Reddit user has shared an embarrassing mistake on their travel document
In a glaring error, Chelsey’s forehead had been distorted so that it stretched far higher than it did in real life.
The image drew an amusing response from other Reddit users, who compared it to something out of the movie Coneheads.
One user joked: “When she sleeps she doesn’t have dreams, she has movies.”
Another quipped: “She looks like she could tell you the five billionth digit of pi without even breaking a sweat.”
Passport photo fail: Chelsey’s forehead appeared far larger than it was in the original picture
Reece said Chelsey was luckily able to get a new version of her passport and was even able to keep the distorted version as a memento.
Chelsey’s passport photo fail wasn’t the only one of its kind – another Reddit user revealed the same thing had happened to his.
The man shared his passport image, writing: “Your girlfriend isn’t the only victim.”
His forehead also appeared so large it doubled the length of his head.
Passport photo fail: Another man shared his own embarrassing picture to prove Chelsey was not alone
Another man found an embarrassing error on his British driving licence.
Charles Wade-Palmer, 22, from Birmingham, had used a baby-faced photograph of his 11-year-old self when he applied for a provisional licence as a schoolboy aged 16.
But after years of being laughed at by bartenders and doormen when he showed his driving licence as ID, he was thrilled when an opportunity came up to replace his photo.
After sending off a current photograph for his new licence however, he was gutted when it arrived and the DVLA had chosen to reuse his OLD photo instead of his new one.
He is now stuck with his babyface as ID until 2021.
